Get Hooked Sportfishing

I got my family out for a quick evening fishing trip yesterday! My son and daughter both landed a nice lake trout, and my wife boated the first salmon oy the year!! The king weighed almost 20 pounds!! It was a great night to be on the water spending time together!! I still have many openings in May, and I still have this weekend April 27 and 28 open. While the wind has kept us off the water the last few times I tried to get out, the temps are warming up, and the fishing should be hot!! The boats that have been out are still doing well on nearshore brown trout, withlake trout readily available out a little deeper. Some chinook and coho salmon have been showing up in the catch while targeting browns also. Although Saturday looks like a blowoff day, and Sunday is Easter, I still have Monday April 22nd through the 30th open for morning or evening charters. It was a snowy start to the season last week, but I did have my first 2 charters of the year this past weekend. We targeted brown trout, and lake trout, and did well on both species both days, and even had a coho salmon in the catch on Sunday. A few boats picked up a spring chinook salmon while fishing for browns, but sadly we were not the lucky boat last week. I still have many dates open for April Brown and Lake trout fishing out of Oak Orchard, and there are still prime dates open including weekends for when I move the boat down to the port of Wilson for the month of May. you can't beat spring salmon fishing off of the Niagara Bar in May, so be sure to get on my book for some exciting spring salmon fishing. The boat is in the water, and we are ready to fish!! I have plenty of dates open for spring fishing out of the Oak for the month of April. We will be targeting nearshore brown trout, with hungry lake trout available just out a little deeper this time of the year. Coho salmon, and steelhead leaving the rivers are possible, and you never know when there could be a hungry chinook salmon hanging out in the warmer shallow water!! Spring Has Sprung!!

Hopefully winter has finally come and gone,(of course they are calling for snow on Friday- Ha!!), but the best news is that the river has thawed, and the ice is gone. I am tentatively looking at the boat being in the water by the middle of next week, so once we get rigged up, we should be ready to rock for the 2019 charter season!! I still have plenty of dates open for spring brown and lake trout fishing during April out of Oak Orchard, and I should have the boat up to Wilson by the second week of May for spring Salmon fishing at the Niagara Bar!!! I also still have some prime dates including some weekends open during June, July, and August out of Oak Orchard. March 4th 2019!! 

After a long cold winter, hopefully spring is right around the corner. I am hopeing to get the boat in the water the first week of April this year, but we that will depend on the temps for the rest of March. The Oak Orchard river is still frozen over!! I just updated the calendar section of the website, so all open dates are posted. Many groups have already confirmed their 2019 dates, but there are still many days, including full weekends available for the 2019 season. I plan on moving the boat down to the port of Wilson hopefully in the second week of May this year, so get ahold of me sooner than later for some great Niagara Bar spring salmon fishing!! Well here we are at the end of June, and the fishing remains great!! More and more salmon over 20 pounds are being caught on a regular basis now. I only have 2 weekend mornings left in July.
